ART GLOW HEAT
ER161 Resin 1 Kg Bottle
EH165 Hardener 334 g Bottle
ART-GLOW HEAT is a casting, pouring and paint-on clear epoxy resin. It is similar to standard ART GLO, but it requires baking at about 100 C, for 3 hours, in order to withstand a tea pot of boiling water, without going soft.
FEATURES:
Low viscosity (thin), easy to release air bubbles, excellent UV resistance (the latest epoxy technology).
APPLICATIONS:
Casting and Pouring: Used mainly for trays, mosaic trays, coasters, small table tops.
MIX RATIO
ER161 3 by weight
EH165 1
For best practice use an inexpensive digital, kitchen scale (accurate to 1 g). Measuring by volume is not as accurate. Excessive hardener leads to a rubbery and sticky surface; too much resin, it will be softer.
MIXING:
(2 cup method). Measure the quantity that you require, 3 to 1 by weight.
Approximate coverage:
Resin – Hardener mix: 100 g will cover 0,1 m2, at a thickness of 1 mm. 50 cm x 20 cm = 1000 square cm, which is 0,1 m2.
Mix resin and hardener thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes. Avoid introducing air bubbles by mixing slowing and not whipping, using a flat stick. Scrape sides. Transfer to a second cup and mix again for 1 minute. This is to ensure that the two components are 100% mixed. Any unmixed material will not cure properly and will show as a soft, stick patch.
WORKING TIME:
Pot life is about 20 minutes at 25 to 30 C. Do not use below about 15 C, as the reaction slows down. Higher temperature speeds up reaction. Blowing warm air (40 to 60 C) over it, will speed up the setting time.
CURING TIME:
Setting / handling time:
24 hours at about 25 C then bake for 3 – 4 hours at 90 to 100 C. This resin system will be brittle without baking. Handle the tray carefully before baking
